Learnership Programmes

AFA SAICA
Training Programme

AFA is committed to supporting the industry by creating more chartered accountants and have successfully launched the AFA SAICA training program in 2020.

In our experience, we have found a growing trend of chartered accountants entering the market with very little practical experience to be able to fulfil a finance role. The AFA strategy is to offer candidates an alternate to the traditional audit firm experience. We offer experience in a wide range of industries, companies and roles, but also experience in finance roles which enables them to enter the market and add value to the roles they fulfil.

AFA is a SAICA registered training office that is able to provide the article clerks practical insights into the finance industry, whilst ensuring that they achieve the competencies to complete the SAICA articles.

This programme requires significant input from the AFA management team to provide quality experience and we are looking forward to involving our clients in the programme to further expand our training to include corporate experience as well.

AFA Learnership Programme

At AFA, we believe that skills development is vital towards encouraging sustainable growth within our society.

In 2019, we implemented a learnership programme for future leaders, mindful of the need to reduce the knowledge gap that exists within critical focus areas and address skills shortages and the rate of unemployment. We have provided opportunities for over 50 youth to date.

We offer a 12-month learnership programme to students who are either unemployed, disabled or employment equity candidates. The learnership’s national qualifications framework (NQF) course is designed to enhance and maximise skills development, allowing students to increase their employability.

Our team plays a decisive role in providing mentorship and support for each of the students with regular visits with the learners.

The current focus is to provide employed learnerships thereby further impacting the lives of youth with a sustained income, practical work experience, whilst affording them the opportunity to further their studies.
